Greetings! Welcome to Traditions Leathercraft. My humble beginnings into leathercrafting began back in 1980 when in Jr. high school our shop teacher introduced our class to leathercrafting. Little did I know then that working with my hands creating leather goods would be a lifelong journey.
My wife and I are blessed to have 8 children. We live on a small farm in Blanchard, OK where we also raise dairy goats. My wife, Dawn, has home schooled our children for over 20 years now. Several years ago Dawn and one of my daughters, Emily, began to make goat milk soaps and then lotions. These became so popular that we started a website and offered our healthy goat milk products at craft shows around Oklahoma. We continue to make and sell our products at www.swingingkfarm.com
After working for a nation-wide leathercraft supply chain for nearly 23 years I was laid off. That prompted me to do leather work for part time income. Several years prior to this I was introduced to traditional archery by attending my first OJAM, or Oklahoma Jamboree, hosted by the Oklahoma Selfbow Society. It did not take me long to realize that God had put me on this path of leathercrafting all those years ago so that I would be prepared to start up Traditions Leathercraft, LLC.
I began manufacturing our line quality quivers, armguards, belts and more from our garage at home in Blanchard. This year a friend that owns Archery Traditions of Oklahoma in Yukon, Ok invited me to rent out a spare room in his indoor archery range where I would be able to have more space to grow. If you are in the area or traveling through Oklahoma on I-40 I invite you to stop in and pay us a visit. We are located at 328 Elm Ave in Yukon, OK.
